New ResourcePlanner Features You’ll Love

New features - partial vacation, search, api integration

Resource Planner just rolled out a set of improvements that make scheduling more flexible, granular and integrated than ever. This article breaks down four major updates and shows how they can help your team work smarter.

Plan Multiple Assignments on the Same Day

Teams frequently juggle multiple activities on a single day - for example, a developer might spend the morning coding and the afternoon in meetings. It is still the same project, but you might have this visually separated. Previously, Resource Planner limited you to one assignment per day per project. With the new overlapping‑assignments feature, you can stack several assignments (which may represent tasks) on the same day. Each assignment appears as a separate block in the Gantt view.

Zoom In with Hourly Planning Mode

Sometimes weekly or daily planning isn’t granular enough. The new hourly planning mode lets you zoom into a two‑day window and plan work in hourly increments. Standard business hours (09:00–17:00) are highlighted so you can see core working times, but you’re free to schedule assignments outside of this range too. We changes the way non-business hours are displayed a little, so it is not confusing with visaul representation of outside business hours. It requires a little mind shift when you switch from daily mode... but you don't have to use it at all if it doesn't fit you.

Integrations

Resource Planner has never been intended as a standalone tool — it is supposed to be part of your broader workflow. Now, you can connect ResourcePlanner to your own database and use it or embed it directly in your own app. This is not all! You can also connect resource planner to your AI agents via MCP. See more in integration guide.

Small improvements

As your schedule grows, scrolling through the timeline to find a resource or project can slow you down. We added search bars on several places to make your life easier.

We also improved the way time-off is displayed - if there is partial vacation planned, you will be able to see very easily that your team member is here only for part of the day and how much free capacity does he have.

In order to keep the tool simple, we removed one of the views (dense daily view), but you will not even notice this, sice there are still weekly and monthly views available.
